News from the Superintendent ~ February 25, 2011
Hubbard Schools have been closed for six calamity days this school year. As you may know, we are only permitted three days for the 2010-2011 school year. As of Friday, February 25, 2011, we are looking at three make-up days which would come at the end of the school year.
The Senate Education Committee has recently passed Senate Bill 18 legislation that would restore the five calamity days, and provide additional language to help schools during difficult Ohio winters. I will keep you informed as the bill progresses through the approval process.
Congratulations are in order for our Boys and Lady Eagle Bowling teams for winning their All-American Conference Championships. Best of luck as you move forward for a State Championship! Congratulations are also in order for our four Eagle Swimmers who advanced to Districts at Cleveland State University and our four Wrestlers who advanced to Districts at Akron Firestone High School.
Hubbard Schools has a renewal levy on the May 3 ballot. If any organization or community group would like to schedule a meeting with our committee to discuss the renewal, please call my office at 330-534-1921 x 1003.
