The Hubbard Exempted Village School District is celebrating local veterans all month long. To mark Veterans Day, the district recently purchased and installed a banner that reads “Hubbard Students and Staff Thank Our Veterans''. The Hubbard High School boys and girls basketball programs are hosting charity basketball games to benefit Hubbard High School teacher Megan Schellhorn as she fights breast cancer. The basketball programs, Hubbard athletic department and the Hubbard Education Association have all joined forces to make this happen. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Hubbard High School’s Spanish Club traveled to Tiffany's Banquet Hall to celebrate the Day of the Dead. Students rotated between different cultural stations, which included learning Spanish dances and making a traditional Day of the Dead craft. Hubbard High School’s art department, under the direction of teacher Josh MacMillan, has made it their mission to plow away cancer this winter. Throughout the month of September, MacMillan and his students participated in the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Paint a Plow program.
