Hubbard Elementary School hosted its annual 4th grade spelling bee on Friday, January 7, 2022. Giavanna Caesar won the competition. She will now move on to compete at the 2021 TCESC Spelling Bee, which will be held at the Hubbard High School Auditorium on February 23, 2021 at 5 p.m., and she will have the opportunity to compete in the regional spelling bee at Stambaugh Auditorium on March 12, 2022. “Muffin” compares to connecting the classroom to the real world! The 5th and 6th grade students at Hubbard Middle School experienced fractions in the kitchen by baking! All students had the opportunity to measure, mix and bake various cookies this past week to apply their fractions skills outside of the math classroom. The generosity and hard work of a Hubbard High School student has caught the attention of the United Way of Trumbull County. Freshman Madelyn Fonagy recently received the Thankful Acts of Kindness award from the Unite Way for her efforts in starting and maintaining the Blessing Box. The Blessing Box is a small, food pantry box located outside of the dental office of Dr. Joseph Fonagy in Brookfield. Dr. Fonagy is Madelyn’s grandfather. Like many other people in the area, Dr.

Nine Hubbard students participated in the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) District 5 Honors Band Concert. OMEA is comprised of outstanding band students in grades 7-12 from Ashtabula, Mahoning, and Trumbull Counties. OMEA is the principal organization in Ohio promoting music education in elementary and secondary schools as well as colleges and universities.
