Board Summary February 21, 2017 1. Approved the financial reports for the month of January 2017. Financial Summary, SM-2, Check Register, Bank Reconciliation 2. Approved the following board meeting minutes: January 4, 2017 Work Session January 11, 2017 Work Session January 11, 2017 Organizational Meeting January 11, 2017 Special Meeting January 24, 2017 Regular Meeting 3. Accepted, with gratitude, the following donation: J. M. Verostko, Inc. $500 to Hubbard Community Pool 4. Approved Resolution # 17-13 authorizing the purchase of a 2018 Thomas, Model 311TS school bus from Myers Equipment Corporation at a price of $87,053.00, based on bids received through the Ohio Schools Council. 5. Approved the following to the 2016-2017 Classified Sub List, as per OAPSE negotiated agreement: Jodi Garner Food Service Robin Roose Food Service 6. Approved a Master Agreement between Eastern Gateway and Hubbard Exempted Village School District regarding College Credit Plus, as submitted. 7. Approved Debbie Ridel, home instruction tutor for grade 8 student, short term, 6 hours, as per posting dated February 6, 2017. 8. Approved Debbie Pysher, home instruction tutor for grade 3 student, as per posting dated February 3, 2017. 9. Approved Debbie Ridel, home instruction tutor, 1 hr. per week as per posting dated January 19, 2017. 10. Approved Chris Moriarty, home instruction tutor, 1 ½ hours per week, medical, as per posting dated January 19, 2017. 11. Approved the following coaches, for the 2017-2018 school year, as per HEA negotiated agreement. *All coaches are subject to all required certifications Boys Golf David Cooper Head 12. Approved the following Volunteer coach, for the 2016-2017 school year, as per HEA negotiated agreement. *All coaches are subject to all required certifications Softball Dawn Davis Volunteer 13. Accepted, with regret, the resignation of Rebecca Evans, Cook, effective February 6, 2017. 14. Approved payment to the following Winter 2016 workers: Brianna Jukes 7th grade Boys Scorekeeper $140.00 Anthony Laird 8th and 9th Grade Boys Scoreboard Operator $200.00 Jacob Bayus 8th grade Girls Scoreboard Operator $200.00 Jamie Townsend 8th grade Boys Scorekeeper $130.00 15. Approved a contract modification for Bus #33 routes, currently assigned to Polly Evans, bus driver, from 5.50 hours to 4.50 hours, effective March 6, 2017, as per OAPSE negotiated agreement. 16. Approved an unpaid leave of absence for Polly Evans, bus driver, beginning February 14, 2017, as per OAPSE negotiated agreement. 17. Approved the first amended reading of the HEVSD 2017-2018 Calendar, as submitted on 2/21/17, as per ORC Section 3313.48(B) for adoption at the March 27, 2017 board meeting. 18. Rescinded Item X. U. of the 1/24/17 agenda which read: Hire: Pool Moved by , seconded by , to approve Craig Yaniglos, part-time Assistant Aquatic Director, effective February 1, 2017 through January 31, 2018 @ $20,000.00. 19. Approved Craig Yaniglos, part-time Assistant Aquatic Director, effective February 1, 2017 through June 30, 2017, @ $20,000.00 annually pro-rated. 20. Rescinded Item X. V. of the 1/24/17 agenda which read: Hire: Pool Moved by , seconded by , to approve Patrick Goclano, Aquatic Director, effective February 1, 2017 through January 31, 2018 @ $30,000.00. 21. Approved Patrick Goclano, Aquatic Director, effective February 1, 2017 through June 30, 2017 @ $30,000.00, annually pro-rated. 22. Resolution #17-14: Resolution to Employ Superintendent Approved a 5 year contract to Raymond W. Soloman as Superintendent of Schools, effective August 1, 2017, through July 31, 2022. RESOLVED, that the Board employ Raymond W. Soloman as Superintendent for the term beginning August 1, 2017, and extending through July 31, 2022, upon such terms and conditions as set forth in his current written contract of employment, which may be amended during its term in accordance with state law. 23. Resolution #17-15: Resolution to Employ Treasurer Approved a 5 year contract to Amber R. Babik, as Treasurer of Schools, effective August 1, 2018, through July 31, 2023. RESOLVED, that the Board employ Amber R. Babik as Treasurer for the term beginning August 1, 2018, and extending through July 31, 2023, upon such terms and conditions as set forth in her current written contract of employment, which may be amended during its term in accordance with state law.
