Eclipse SUNglasses

There is a 2-hour early release day scheduled for Monday, April 8, 2024 due to the Solar Eclipse.

Elementary School students will be dismissed at 1:00 pm, as the eclipse is set to begin at 3:08 pm. Students are encouraged to wear space-themed attire or pajamas to school on that day. Please note that stuffed animals and slippers are not permitted.

Middle School students will be dismissed at 12:22 pm. Gear up for the solar eclipse in style! Students are invited to wear pajamas to school on that day. Please note, stuffed animals, blankets, and slippers are not permitted.

High School students will be dismissed at 12:22 pm. Information about attire will be provided on the morning announcements. This is due to the filming of the annual Lip Dub on this day.

Additionally, each student is bringing home a pair of Eclipse SUNglasses. These meet the safety standard for solar viewers and are ISO-12312-2 certified. These glasses filter out 100% of both harmful ultraviolet and infrared light, and 99.999% of intense visible light, ensuring safe viewing of the eclipse. Should you have any questions, please feel free to call the appropriate school office at 330-534-1921.

These glasses were generously donated by H.E.L.P. (Hubbard Educators Local Philanthropy). This organization, composed of teachers and staff from Hubbard Exempted Village Schools, is dedicated to making a lasting impact in the Hubbard community. They provide financial and moral support, along with resources and opportunities, to our students, nurturing personal growth, enriching education, and promoting overall well-being.
