On Friday, April 23rd the Hubbard grades 7, 8, and 9 English Festival team took part in YSU's annual English Festival Competition. This year's 43rd edition was unlike any of the previous years, as students taking part did so through Zoom meetings due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, which cancelled last year's Festival on March 13, 2020. Coached by Mr. Luther, the junior high team met in the HMS library and spent the day engaging in many activities based upon this year's readings. Two of this year's team members won awards as Emma H. Won 4th place in the Not So Trivial Pursuit competition, while Caleb S. scored an Honorable Mention for his writing in the Creative Writing Contest. Congratulations and thanks for your dedication to all of this year's Hubbard Team Members! Next year's junior high English Festival competition is slated for April 7, 2022!
