First Energy's Power Systems Institute: Earn a two year Associate degree in Electric Engineering Technology and be on your way to a career as a line worker in the electric utility industry. First Energy will pay for tuition, books and fees for qualified students. Information meeting on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. A few yearbooks from last school year are still up for grabs. The cost is $75. Bring a cash or a check made out to Hubbard High School to room 107.

Attention Sophomores: If you would like to represent Hubbard High School at this year's HOBY Youth Leadership Seminar to be held in June, please drop off an Activities Resume and a 500 word essay on the topic: What is Leadership? to Mrs. Hinkle in the guidance office by Friday, October 19. At the HOBY Seminar you will participate in leadership training, meet state leaders, gain new skills and inspiration to lead change. There is a $225.00 fee for attendance in the program. (Haidaris)

CCP Information: Current sophomores and juniors that are interested in taking College Credit Plus courses NEXT year must have the qualifying ACT scores to be eligible for the program. The February ACT date is the LAST test date that can be used for CCP qualification. That means that you have the October, December and February ACT test dates. It is your responsibility to get signed up for the ACT by the registration deadline.

Just a reminder...T-Shirt orders are due next Wednesday, October 10th. Make any checks out to Hubbard High School.

Sophomores: Youth Leadership Mahoning Valley is now accepting applications for the leadership program. If you have the potential for great leadership and would like to apply, please pick up an application from Mrs. Hinkle in the guidance office. Completed applications are due to the guidance office by Wednesday, Oct. 31. There is a tuition fee of $200 in order to participate in the program.

Do you need community service hours? Do you like to walk or run? Well, if you answered yes to either question then there is an option for you this weekend. The annual Hubbard Hunger Hike is this Sunday, October 14th at 2pm. Meet at the Presbyterian Church by 2 and participate in the walk/run to benefit Hubbard's food pantry and the Weekend Buddies program which provides food on the weekends for Hubbard students. To register see Mrs. Bebech in the library each morning or show up on Sunday.
