Student Announcements

Student Athletes - NCAA eligibility requires all ACT / SAT test scores be sent directly to NCAA. When registering for ACT/SAT you must use NCAA Code 9999. If you have questions, see your guidance counselor.

ACT information is available in the Guidance Office. It is your responsibility to sign up and pay by the deadlines. You can register online @www.act.org.

SENIORS: OSU requires ACT scores sent directly from the testing agency. Please mark OSU as score recipient when registering for ACT/SAT. Other schools may require scores sent directly from ACT...check on the college website.

SENIORS: If you apply to a College/University online, you MUST let your counselor know so we can mail a transcript. Your application will not be processed without a high school transcript.

SENIORS: Please turn in a copy of your Activities Resume to the guidance office. We will use that when making student nominations for awards, etc.

PSAT test date is October 16th. The test is offered to sophomores for practice and to Juniors for National Merit Competition. The cost is $19.00 and you can sign up and pay with Mrs. Hinkle in the Guidance Office. Sign up deadline September 18th.

CCP Information: Current sophomores and juniors that are interested in taking College Credit Plus courses NEXT year must have the qualifying ACT scores to be eligible for the program. The February ACT date is the LAST test date that can be used for CCP qualification. That means that you have the October, December and February ACT test dates. It is your responsibility to get signed up for the ACT by the registration deadline.

You can sign up at act.org. If you need help signing up for the ACT, please see guidance.

ATTENTION SENIORS: Thursday, September 19th, the lunch patio will be used for a Link event with the freshmen class so it will be closed to seniors. Thank you in advance for you cooperation.

Attention Students: Anyone looking for Service hours, Taste of Hubbard is looking for volunteers to help throughout the day. We will need volunteers on September 29th at Harding Park from 8 am - 12 pm and 12 pm - 4 pm. There will be a sign up sheet in the Main Office. See Mrs. Puncekar.

Hey 1st period classes! Want Donuts?? The Robotic team is holding our annual food drive from September 16th through the 20th. 1 point for each item, 3 points for peanut butter (0 points for Ramen Noodles). The class with the most points wins.

The Hubbard Robotics Team, The sonic Screwdrivers, is looking for new members! Robotics is an amazing experience for everyone; not just those with an interest in building robots. In joining robotics, you will have all sorts of opportunities. There’s something for everyone. From building and designing, to public relations, programming, volunteering, and more! Our team is a place where all members treat each other with respect and lend a hand to anyone who needs it. Join us during our meeting on the 17th of September, after school in room 204. We hope to see you there!

Thinking about what school to attend after graduation? Check out College Night at the Eastwood Mall on Thursday October 10 from 5 - 7 pm. Reps from over 60 colleges will be on hand to answer questions and provide information.

S20 under Twenty Award: Awarded to outstanding students that show leadership through community service and volunteerism, academic achievement and extracurricular activities. Nominees must be residents of Trumbull county, at least a freshman in high school and no older than 19 years old as of December 1, 2019. Students will submit the 2019 Student Nomination Form along with supporting documents from a nominator. Parents may nominate students. Forms available in guidance -- Students are responsible for submitting forms to the Tribune Chronicle by September 20, 2019.

-- There will be a MANDATORY speech team meeting Monday September 23rd after school in room 112. The meeting should last no longer than twenty minutes. At this meeting, we will collect permission slips and discuss event choices with everyone. If you can't attend this meeting, please make arrangements with Mr. Moriarty ahead of time. Coach Mason will be in charge of this meeting.

Attention all French students interested in joining French Club: You must sign up for French Club in room 109 and bring your $5 dues in an envelope labeled with your name to Mrs. Szeljack by this Friday, September 20th.

There will be a mandatory SADD meeting next Tuesday, September 24 after school in Miss Davis's room. We will be electing officers and planning our first event. If you are not present, you may not run for office. If you have questions please see Miss Davis.

Voting for Homecoming Court will take place in all English classes on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The Court will be announced on Friday, September 27th.
