HHS Future Educators of America present Linda Slater Memorial Award for Inspiration in Education

During Hubbard Exempted Village School District's opening day ceremony, the Future Educators of America at Hubbard High School recognized its first ever winner of the Linda Slater Memorial Award for Inspiration in Education.

The Future Educators of America at Hubbard High School began seeking nominations in April from current students, former students, parents and community members for outstanding teachers who've inspired their students to become the best version of themselves both in and out of the classroom. A panel of judges reviewed the nominations in June and selected a winner.

The distinction, named in honor of longtime Hubbard Schools teacher Linda Slater, was presented to Hubbard Middle School teacher Tracy Hoover. Hoover teaches 7th and 8th grade literacy. She's been employed with the district since 1995.

In addition to the Linda Slater Memorial Award for Inspiration in Education, Hoover will also be presented a $1,000 donation to be used in her classroom from Great Clips of Liberty, which partnered with the district on this award.
