HHS students raise money for Sophia's Wings

On Saturday March 25, students from the Hubbard High School Career and Community Class hosted a spaghetti dinner to raise money for Sophia's Wings. Sophia's Wings is a non-profit organization in the Mahoning Valley dedicated to providing comfort to families suffering the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, ectopic pregnancy or neonatal death. They offer free grief counseling by a licensed therapist to support families who want to remember and honor their babies on a journey to healing and hope.

Hubbard High School students Addison Evans, Crystal Housel, Lilly Wylie, Hannah Stayer, Lillian Hutter and Derrick Lenzi each volunteered at the event. Despite losing power three times, a power line fire and a tree blocking the road due to the wind, local residents still managed to fill the church hall and helped our students to raise $3,600 for Sophia's Wings.
