Hello, this is David Reel, assistant principal at Hubbard High School. I want to welcome the students back for the 2020 school year, and provide additional information to family members regarding the beginning of the school year.
1st, we will be holding a textbook and planner pick-up for all remote only students on Thursday Aug 27, and Friday Aug 28, from 9-1 at the front of the high school
Teachers will have a virtual open house video available on their website by Friday, August 28th at 2 pm. Also located on teacher websites will be the class codes to join their Google Classroom. All students are required to join the Google classroom, whether remote or face-to-face. There will also be a virtual open house with videos regarding school procedures for this school year available on the district high school webpage by 2 pm this Friday.
Next, just a reminder the school year will officially start on Monday Aug 31st. Students in Cohort A will be coming to the building. For full remote and Cohort B students, they should be checking their teachers’ websites, watching their open house videos, and start adding their classes in Google Classroom. All students in Cohort B will arrive to school on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
We ask before coming to school, parents conduct a health check with their child for any covid symptoms. These health check protocols can be found on page 6 and 7 in the Hubbard Reopening Plan. Parents driving their students are to drop off only in the front parking lot by the arches. The doors will open starting at 7:15, at which point students will enter with their mask on, take a temperature check, and proceed to the gymnasium. At 7:25, those students that are in the gymnasium will be dismissed to go directly to their first period class. Students that are driving to school will be able to enter at 7:25 with their masks on, have their temperature taken, and will go directly to their 1st period class. Reminder, students will carry their bookbags throughout the school day at this time, and will be permitted to carry a water bottle.
We appreciate and thank you in advance all the support from the students, parents, and the Hubbard Community during the school year.
