Hubbard Families and Staff,
On behalf of the administrative team, I want you to know we are excited to welcome back our students and staff to in-person learning, five days a week. Our staff will return to school on Monday, August 23, 2021 and Tuesday, August 24, 2021 - and our students will return to school on Wednesday, August 25, 2021!
This letter outlines the requirements, procedures and expectations for students and staff in the Hubbard Exempted Village School District. It also contains important information regarding the start of school, including start dates and building times.
Transportation Procedures and Expectations
Masks are mandated on school buses, regardless of vaccination status. Passengers and drivers must wear a mask on school buses operated by public and private school systems, subject to the exclusions and exemptions in the CDC’S order. Click here to review a video about the requirements.
Transportation information including pick up and drop off times will be mailed by August 23, 2021 to kindergarten and fifth grade students. If you have any questions, please contact Mona Jones at 330-534-3722.
Indoor Procedures & Expectations
Hubbard Exempted Village School District strongly recommends universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status. However, at this time, the decision to use a facial covering or mask will remain optional for students, staff and visitors.
Maintain a social distance of three feet whenever possible.
Conduct a self-health assessment prior to reporting to school.
Individuals who are sick, have symptoms consistent with COVID 19, or a fever above 100.0 degrees should stay home until such time they are symptom or fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication.
Please note, if you wish to send your child to school without a mask, there may be instances when they are ordered to quarantine by the Trumbull County Combined Health District due to their exposure to a medically-diagnosed case of COVID-19. Click here to review quarantine guidelines for classroom settings. Click here to review quarantine guidelines for non-classroom settings.
Outdoor Procedures and Expectations
The use of a facial covering or mask is optional.

The district will continue to keep a close eye on COVID-19 trends specific to our school community. If the district begins to see case rates trending upward, where the resulting impact could cause the closure of a school building and/or suspension of athletics/activities, the Hubbard Exempted Village School District may require students and/or staff, regardless of vaccination status, to temporarily wear a mask while indoors in an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 within our schools and keep our students attending in-person.

Sincerely,
Raymond W. Soloman
Hubbard Exempted Village School District Superintendent
