Hubbard High School honors local veterans with original piece of art

Today, Hubbard Schools presented a very important piece of artwork to a group of people who deserve more than they are given and acknowledged. This Veteran's Day the Hubbard Student Council donated a large painting done by the art students of Hubbard High School. The commitment given by these brave men and women along with the countless others who have helped to forge the freedoms we have today. In appreciation for those who were present and representing our nation’s finest, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you and present a small token of gratitude to the members of the Hubbard VFW. The sacrifice our veterans have put into assuring our country's freedom and democracy is something every American regardless of their political belief, race, gender, or creed should appreciate. The Veterans in the painting are (from left to right): Anthony James Papa, Anthony Charles Congemi, Jack Betts, Carl Nelson Jr, Dorothy C Butala

The painting took a little over a month to complete with the help of high school art teacher Mr. MacMillian, Miss Tricomi, and several students like Elizabeth Williams who worked on the piece everyday while in class to assure it was completed. These are the opportunities we look forward to being a part of and we are always willing and able to show our support for the men and women who currently defend this country and show respect for those who have served.
