Members of Hubbard High School’s Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), under the leadership of teacher Mary Davis, highlighted the dangers of impaired and distracted driving on Friday, April 26, 2019, when they hosted a mock crash.
The school district partnered with the Hubbard City Police, Hubbard Township Police, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, LifeFleet, Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home, C&C Towing and the Hubbard Eagle Joint Fire Department for the exercise. Members of SADD served as actors while the junior and senior classes viewed the crash. After witnessing the emergency response to the mock crash, the junior and senior classes gathered in the auditorium, where a mock funeral took place. The event, which takes place every other year, addressed the dangers of partying and driving while under the influence, as well as distracted driving.
