Link Leaders host picnic for freshmen class

On Thursday, September 19, Hubbard High School's Link Leaders hosted an outdoor picnic for the freshmen class. Students were treated to a meal and games as they bonded with one another.

In May, Hubbard High School trained more than 40 students, who now serve as Link Leaders throughout the 2019-2020 school year. The student leaders are paired with freshmen. Through the yearlong mentoring program, Link Leaders will provide academic and social support to members of the freshmen class through structured classroom visits and more relaxed, social activities. The Link Crew program has been shown to help increase school safety and reduce incidences of bullying. It’s also proven to increase attendance, decrease discipline referrals and improve academics.
