Hubbard Middle School recently concluded its Pickleball Tournament of Champions, with winners crowned in grades 6-8.
In 8th grade, Tyler Sarisky and Sophia Rising took home the boys' and girls' championship titles, respectively. Eight grade runner-ups include Dominic Martinez and Serena Martinez.
The 7th grade champions were Drake Haun for the boys and Tori Alexander for the girls. Seventh grade runner-ups include Frankie Rossodivita and Allison Alexander.
Sixth grade saw Kyle Jones win the boys' title and Izzy Matthews secure the girls' championship. Sixth grade runner-ups include Nino Prezioso and Athena Mott.
Beyond the courts, the school also celebrated a new volleyball record. A group consisting of Giavanna Caesar, Hadley Button, Alexandra Komorek, Ava Yersky, Matthew Murphy and Jaxon Wagner achieved a new school record with 89 consecutive bumps and sets.
In strength and conditioning, the school announced its bench press and deadlift records. Zeth Kuchmak holds the boys' bench press record at 145 lbs, while Jaelyn Dutting holds the girls' record at 105 lbs. The deadlift records are held by Tyler Hallet for boys at 305 lbs and Maela Thompson for girls at 210 lbs.
