eagle excellence

Hubbard High School is proud to celebrate Kayla Welsh, who was named a Secondary Teacher of the Year at the Mahoning Valley Educators of the Year Honors Dinner held Tuesday night at the Eastwood Event Centre.

The event brought together outstanding educators from 42 school districts across the Mahoning Valley to celebrate excellence in education and the impact teachers make in their classrooms and communities.

The recognition event itself began as an idea from Hubbard High School art teacher Josh MacMillan, who wanted to create a way to honor outstanding educators throughout the region. He partnered with the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber to bring the concept to life. This year marked the second annual Mahoning Valley Educators of the Year Honors Dinner.

Welsh’s recognition reflects the dedication, passion and care she brings to her students every day. Her commitment to helping students learn, grow and succeed continues to make a meaningful difference at Hubbard High School.

Congratulations to Kayla on this well-deserved honor. The Hubbard school community is proud and grateful to have one of the region’s outstanding educators right here in our schools.
