Today, our top 12 pickleball players battled it out to crown the 7th-grade pickleball champions in an exciting tournament held in front of their entire grade level! With intense games and extremely close matches, these players truly gave it their all. For the girls, Tori Alexander clinched 1st place, narrowly defeating her twin sister, Allison. On the boys' side, Drake Haun won over Frankie Rossodivita to claim the championship title! Students in Rodney Lehman’s gym classes spend each quarter learning the sport of pickleball, culminating in the tournament of champions to wrap up the course. Congrats to all our competitors! 👏 #HubbardPride #PickleballChampions

In August 2023, Hubbard VFW Post 3767, in partnership with Hubbard Schools, introduced the "VFW Unsung Hero Award" to honor dedicated staff members, including bus drivers, custodians, cafeteria workers, and more, for their essential roles in the lives of our students! Last month, during a staff assembly, the inaugural award was presented to Yolanda Resatar, Hubbard High School’s secretary. Yolanda received a trophy, flowers and a $500 check in recognition of her dedication. Thank you to the Hubbard VFW Post 3767 for helping us celebrate our amazing staff! 👏✨ #UnsungHero #HubbardSchools #VFWPost3767 #ThankYou

Last Friday, we had our annual coat giveaway, and it was a huge success! Thanks to Kommunity 4 Kids and the Hubbard Educators Local Philanthropy ( H.E.L.P.), every second grader received a brand-new Hubbard Eagle winter coat, along with the chance to meet a positive role model from our community. The kids had a great time connecting with mentors from city government, city police, township police, firefighters, the Hubbard Youth Coalition and Hubbard Schools. The goal of the program is to develop positive experiences, relationships and respect between community leaders and our youth. Thank you to everyone who made it a memorable day! #HubbardEagles

We want to remind you about the Hubbard Schools Pantry, a resource available to any student who may need extra food support. If you or your family could use assistance, simply fill out our Food Pantry Request Form (https://forms.gle/4pk9eGxVLpUsbeaw9) or talk to a teacher or school administrator. Once a request is made, food can be sent home with you, or your family can arrange to pick it up from the school – whichever works best! Everything is confidential, and our goal is to ensure that no student goes without the food they need!

Our very own Hubbard Middle School physical education teacher, Rodney Lehman, reached an incredible milestone this summer by winning a national tennis tournament in the 55+ division! Mr. Lehman’s began playing the sport as a self-taught player at the age of 35, joining the United States Tennis Association (USTA). In his very first match, he faced a tough opponent from Florida and lost 6-0, 6-0 in just 58 minutes. But this summer, in a story of determination, he came back to face the same opponent at the West Virginia Open in Wheeling, WV—and after an intense four-hour match, Mr. Lehman emerged victorious! 🏅 He has competed in tournaments across West Virginia, Kentucky, and Connecticut, and his previous high finish was third place in a Louisville, KY tournament in 2021. This summer, he also took home the title at the Sharon Open. #HubbardMiddleSchool #RodneyLehman #USTAChampion #TennisChampion

Throughout September, our elementary school focused on the important character trait of trustworthiness. Homeroom teachers nominated two students from each class who consistently showed this value all month long. These students were honored by our school counselor Mrs. Slovesko for being great role models! Congratulations to all of our students—keep up the great work! 🌟 #HubbardElementary #Trustworthiness #CharacterTraits #TrustworthyEagles
