Hubbard Middle School and Hubbard Elementary School students meet their pen pals in person

Students from Hubbard Middle School and Hubbard Elementary School wrapped up a semester-long pen pal program with a face-to-face meeting.

Throughout the semester, Hubbard Middle School seventh graders and Hubbard Elementary fourth graders exchanged letters during ELA classes. The program gave students a chance to practice writing skills while building connections across grade levels.

The goal was to help fourth graders feel more comfortable about eventually transitioning to middle school while giving seventh graders the opportunity to build leadership and communication skills.

For many students, Monday was the first time meeting their pen pal in person after months of writing back and forth.
