Second graders in Mrs. Frank's class recently wrapped up their unit on the Human Body in the most hands-on way possible — by transforming their classroom into an operating room!
Our doctors-in-training explored the body's systems through fun, interactive activities:
- Listened to their own heartbeats
- Built lung models with balloons
- Simulated the digestive process
- Played "Operation"
- And created life-size models of themselves complete with labeled internal organs!

The first-ever Mahoning Valley Educators of the Year Honors Dinner took place on Tuesday night at the Eastwood Event Centre, recognizing 33 outstanding local teachers for their dedication and impact in the classroom.
This event was the brainchild of one of our very own, Josh MacMillan—a true champion for educators!
We are also beyond proud to celebrate Kelli Komlanc, who was honored as the Elementary Educator of the Year!
With nearly 300 attendees from school districts across Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties, along with representatives from the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber, Youngstown State University and the YSU Foundation, this event was a great tribute to the hard work of our local educators!
