Middle school students display math projects featuring aquariums, scaled ocean animals, and surface area designs while participating in end-of-year activities.

Students in Hubbard Middle School's 5th and 6th grade math classes wrapped up the school year with a variety of engaging activities that combined creativity and mathematical thinking.

Students participated in a school-wide Rock, Paper, Scissors competition, with Kat Retort earning the championship title. Fifth graders used volume measurement skills to determine the correct aquarium size for "Swimmy" the fish and added colorful fish to their classroom aquarium display.

Meanwhile, sixth graders applied scale and measurement concepts by creating ocean animals for the aquarium and designing "Mathland," where they calculated the surface area of homes and businesses they created.
