Fire safety was the lesson of the day at Hubbard Elementary! The Eagle Joint Fire Department visited students in grades K-4 to review important fire safety tips, including:
🔥 Have an escape plan with two ways out.
🔥 Choose a meeting spot outside.
🔥 Never go back inside a burning home.
🔥 Make sure your home has working smoke detectors.
🔥 Never hide during a fire. Firefighters need to be able to find you.
🔥 Stay low because smoke rises.
🔥 If your clothing catches fire, stop, drop and roll.
🔥 Tell an adult if you find matches or a lighter within reach.

Hubbard VFW Post 3767, in collaboration with Hubbard Schools, presented Connie with this year's VFW Unsung Hero Award, recognizing her dedication and service to our school community.
Connie serves as a classroom paraprofessional, drives a school bus and helps clean and prepare the building during the summer. She is always willing to step in wherever she is needed and goes above and beyond to support students.
Her nominator, teacher Kayla Welsh, highlighted Connie's commitment to her students, her positive attitude and the relationships she builds throughout the school. Whether she's in the classroom, behind the wheel of a bus or helping prepare the building, Connie makes a difference.

Many of our Hubbard Schools teachers are gearing up for another school year, and on Thursday, they got a little extra appreciation at Totes of Appreciation at Eastwood Mall!
As part of the event, 600 educators received a FREE Vera Bradley tote to fill with school supplies. The day also included guest speakers, raffle basket giveaways, and local businesses showing their support for educators.
Totes of Appreciation was created after a local business owner recognized just how much teachers spend out of their own pockets to provide supplies for their classrooms! Students in Miss Morris’s third-grade math class took part in a hands-on lesson at Carmela’s Pizzeria.
Students practiced fractions using pizza, calculated orders, graphed types of noodles, and listened to the story of Strega Nona before enjoying a pizza snack.

Join us tonight from 5:30–7:30 p.m. in the Hubbard Auditorium for a Family Movie Night hosted by the Hubbard High School National Honor Society as part of their community outreach efforts.
Elementary-aged students and their families are invited to enjoy a showing of Inside Out in a sensory-friendly environment. Activity centers will also be available in the adjacent gymnasium for students who want to move around or take part in other activities!
This event is free, and all students must be accompanied by an adult.

What a turn out for our HEPA Family BINGO Night! Our K-1 students played from 5:00–6:30, followed by 2nd–4th graders from 7:00–8:30. Every BINGO winner chose a Squishmallow prize, and families enjoyed raffle drawings and concessions throughout the evening! Thank you to everyone who joined us for another fantastic event!

Dana Capezzuto’s 2nd grade class just wrapped up their CKLA human body unit in the best way, pretend surgery! Students donned doctor caps and gowns and put their learning to the test. A special shout-out to Dr. Geisler (aka “Dad” to two lucky students in Mrs. Capezzuto’s class!) for stopping by to share what it’s really like to be a doctor. Future doctors in the making! 👩⚕️👨⚕️🩺
