First Energy's Power Systems Institute: Earn a two year Associate degree in Electric Engineering Technology and be on your way to a career as a line worker in the electric utility industry. First Energy will pay for tuition, books and fees for qualified students. Information meeting on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. Attention Sophomores: If you would like to represent Hubbard High School at this year's HOBY Youth Leadership Seminar to be held in June, please drop off an Activities Resume and a 500 word essay on the topic: What is Leadership? to Mrs. Hinkle in the guidance office by Friday, October 19. At the HOBY Seminar you will participate in leadership training, meet state leaders, gain new skills and inspiration to lead change. There is a $225.00 fee for attendance in the program. (Haidaris)

CCP Information: Current sophomores and juniors that are interested in taking College Credit Plus courses NEXT year must have the qualifying ACT scores to be eligible for the program. The February ACT date is the LAST test date that can be used for CCP qualification. That means that you have the October, December and February ACT test dates. It is your responsibility to get signed up for the ACT by the registration deadline.

Sophomores: Youth Leadership Mahoning Valley is now accepting applications for the leadership program. If you have the potential for great leadership and would like to apply, please pick up an application from Mrs. Hinkle in the guidance office. Completed applications are due to the guidance office by Wednesday, Oct. 31. There is a tuition fee of $200 in order to participate in the program.

Attention all students interested in joining the Wrestling Team: We will be holding open mat sessions every Wednesday at 6:00 PM in the Roosevelt gym We will also continue with weightlifting on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Both open mat and weightlifting will continue throughout the month of October. Please plan on attending any one of these sessions so you can sign up for the team. (Lewis)

Attention all Spanish Club members: Your signed permission slip and $8.00 for the Spanish Club Field trip are due to Mrs. Badurik by Friday, Oct. 19. No exceptions!

As we saw on the video announcements last week, Matt Ondo is collection items for the newly built supply pantry to help those in need. In an effort to help Matt with his new supply pantry, we are asking that all students help by donating any food or household items that they can. All donations will be collected during first period this week. The first period with the highest average of items donated will be awarded a donut party compliments of Ms. Yobe. Supplies are posted in all classrooms. (McCleery)

Anyone student who would like to be on Stage Crew or Make-Up and Costumes for the Fall Play please sign up in the Main Office with Mrs. Killian.
