Math is sweet at Hubbard Schools!

“Muffin” compares to connecting the classroom to the real world! The 5th and 6th grade students at Hubbard Middle School experienced fractions in the kitchen by baking! All students had the opportunity to measure, mix and bake various cookies this past week to apply their fractions skills outside of the math classroom. Everyone had a day taking “whisks” and created new friend-“chips”.

In our elementary school, students also put their math skills to the test while enjoying hot chocolate! Students were challenged to figure out problems such as how many bags of mini-marshmallows would be needed to fill 117 cups of hot chocolate if each bag supplied enough marshmallows for 24 cups of hot chocolate?
