Sophomore Addison Sarisky shining bright in world of gymnastics

At just 16 years old, Hubbard High School sophomore Addison Sarisky is making waves in the world of gymnastics. This fall, Addison achieved a remarkable feat by earning a reward trip to Hawaii for gymnastics. To secure her spot, she had to be one of the top 12 athletes from Region 5 (Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois and Michigan) with the highest scores at regionals or nationals.

The daughter of a former gymnast, Addison began her journey into the sport at the age of 2 and currently trains at Olympic Dreams in Liberty. Addison's dedication to her craft is evident as she practices from 3:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. every Monday through Friday and from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Her competition season spans from January to May, with one to two monthly travels for competitions, with Columbus being the closest city.

Addison's year-round commitment to gymnastics involves training with her team and two coaches. This year, she attended camps at University of Alabama and Ohio State University. She also attended the National Team Camp in Texas this past summer, where she had the opportunity to train with National Team coaches and staff. While the beam is Addison’s favorite event, she excels on the uneven parallel bars. She also competes on the floor and vault.
