Fire safety was the lesson of the day at Hubbard Elementary! The Eagle Joint Fire Department visited students in grades K-4 to review important fire safety tips, including:
🔥 Have an escape plan with two ways out.
🔥 Choose a meeting spot outside.
🔥 Never go back inside a burning home.
🔥 Make sure your home has working smoke detectors.
🔥 Never hide during a fire. Firefighters need to be able to find you.
🔥 Stay low because smoke rises.
🔥 If your clothing catches fire, stop, drop and roll.
🔥 Tell an adult if you find matches or a lighter within reach.

150 wins at Hubbard 🦅🏈
Hubbard High School Head Football Coach Brian Hoffman reached a major milestone Friday, earning his 150th win as the head coach of the Eagles.
Hoffman played football at Hubbard before returning to his alma mater, where he has led the program for 20 seasons. His overall career win total is even higher, but Friday’s victory marked win number 150 at Hubbard.
Congratulations to Coach Hoffman on an incredible milestone!

The Hubbard Middle School Book Fair is set to take place October 5–8! The Book Fair will also be open during Parent Teacher Conference Night on October 8, so families can stop by and shop while they are at school!

On September 24, 140 Hubbard students headed to the Canfield Fairgrounds for the Mahoning Valley Skilled Trades Expo. Students explored exciting careers in the skilled construction trades through interactive exhibits and live demonstrations.
A great opportunity for our students to learn more about the career options available to them after high school!

📚 College Application & Common App Help
Seniors can get help with college applications and the Common App from Mrs. Gasser on September 29 and 30 from 2:30–3:30 p.m. in Study Hall Room 105. Students must sign up in the Guidance Office so their transcript can be printed.

Seniors and parents/guardians are invited to FAFSA Night on October 8 at 6 p.m. in Study Hall Room 105. Financial aid officers will be available to answer questions and assist with linking accounts.

Hubbard High School students Taylor Rodgers and Lilian Boone were part of the Tressel Institute’s 2026 Summer Leadership Institute!
Taylor and Lilian joined 24 rising juniors and seniors from 16 Mahoning Valley school districts for a free, three-day leadership experience at Youngstown State University.
Students explored leadership styles and personal values, practiced teamwork and communication, set SMART goals, learned about college and career opportunities, and participated in team-building and community service activities.

Connie serves as a classroom paraprofessional, drives a school bus and helps clean and prepare the building during the summer. She is always willing to step in wherever she is needed and goes above and beyond to support students.
Her nominator, teacher Kayla Welsh, highlighted Connie's commitment to her students, her positive attitude and the relationships she builds throughout the school. Whether she's in the classroom, behind the wheel of a bus or helping prepare the building, Connie makes a difference.
